Kristiina Wilson, MA, CCBC, has spent over 20 years working with domestic cats, socializing and fostering ferals as well as raising bottle babies and placing over 400 abandoned cats in permanent homes.
She completed her Masters Thesis work in Hunter College’s Animal Behavior and Conservation department. Kristiina’s thesis looked at the effect of fluorescent light on the stress behavior of shelter animals, with the partnership of NYCACC, and her research work in general draws from her former work as a photographer.
Recently, she has worked with cheetahs in Namibia in conjunction with the Cheetah Conservation Fund, with wild dolphins on an identification project in Bimini, with injured wild birds at NYC’s Wild Bird Fund and with the New York City Parks Department on their raptor scouting project. She lives in Connecticut with her wife, their 11 cats (one of whom is instagram famous!) and several feral foster cats. She recently presented at the Edmonton Cat Fest 2022 and works with Cat Person and The Wildest as a consulting behaviorist.
